"When Spring comes
The sun take's it's place
As a comforter to the world.
It sends it's hot ray's
And make's a blanket
Around the cool earth.

The ground feel's soft again,
There are fairy ring's on the grass,
Crocuses are popping out of their bed's...
Little fairies dressed in yellow.

Spring has a happy thought
Of seeing flower's and leave's sprout;
Mother Nature is painting the grass and tree's green again;
And when we walk in the rain
We can smell the spring coming.

Spring make's us think
That summer is on it's way,
With the busy time's
When all the animal's
Are feeding their young,
And the bird's
Are on their nest's.

We trust spring...
That it will bring us
Warmth and happiness;
We feel free
When spring is here..."

"Yesterday a butterfly
Came floating gently through the sky.
He soared up through the atmosphere
Then drifted close enough to hear.

I said, "I'd love to fly with you
And sail around the way you do.
It look's like it would be such fun
To fly up toward the summer sun.

But I have not your graceful charm.
I haven't wing's, just these two arm's.
I've been designed to walk around.
My human feet must touch the ground.

Then magically he spoke to me
and told me what his wish would be.

He said, "What I'd love most to do
Is walk upon God's Earth with you,
To squish it's mud between my toe's
Or touch my finger to my nose.

I'd love just once to walk around
With human feet to touch the ground,
But I have not two leg's that swing,
I haven't arm's, just these two wing's."

And so we went our separate way's
In wonder and surprise.
For we'd both seen God's precious gift's
Through someone else's eye's."

Evil (ignorance) is like a shadow-
it has no real substance of its own,
it is simply a lack of light.
You cannot cause a shadow to disappear
by trying to fight it, stamp on it,
by railing against it, or any other form of
emotional or physical resistance.
In order to cause a shadow to
disappear, you must shine light on it.

"Love that is not madness is not love."

Padre Calderon de la Barca

"What is life? A madness.
What is life? An illusion, a shadow, a story.
And the greatest good is little enough;
for all life is a dream, and dream's
themselves are only dream's..."

"He was just a little boy,
on a week's first day.
He was wandering home from Sunday School,
and dawdling on his way.

He scuffed his shoe's into the grass,
he found a caterpillar.
He found a fluffy milkweed pod,
and blew out all the "filler."

A bird's nest in a tree overhead,
so wisely placed on high,
Was just another wonder
that caught his eager eye.

A neighbor watched his zig zag course
and hailed him from the lawn;
Asked him where he'd been that day
and what was going on.

"I've been to Bible School", he said
and turned a piece of sod.
He picked up a wiggly worm replying,
"I've learned a lot of God."

"M'm a very fine way," the neighbor said,
"for a boy to spend his time.
"If you'll tell me where God is,
I'll give you a brand new dime."

Quick as a flash the answer came!
Nor were his accents faint.
"I'll give you a dollar, Mister,
if you can tell me where God ain't."

"Deep inside the crystal forest
Where many fear to go
Is a place of peace and harmony
Where the spring's of eternity flow.

This is where the fairies live
And pass away the hour's
Dancing thru the tree's,
Playing in the flower's.

Fairies flitting on gossamer wing's
Is a common sight
Their wing's of rainbow color's
Unfold, quietly taking flight.

Come and take the journey
To find your child within
Open up your heart and mind
And watch the magic begin."

"Once as a child many year's ago...
on a balmy summer's eve.
I sat in the yard at my Mother's side...
and a butterfly lit at my sleeve.

"It's a sign of good luck," my Mother said.
As the butterfly stayed at my arm...
"It's a symbol of all the beauty in life.
Make sure you do it no harm."

First butterflies are egg's and after they hatch...
they see that their life's just beginning.
They're content with their lot in life,
so, they go out on a limb and start spinning.

They stay out awhile in a magic cocoon....
then emerge like flower's in spring.
Then they share the story of their victory and success...
through each of the color's of their wing's.

The gold in their wing's is the "Golden Rule"...
To follow that is a must.
The blue ... That mean's true blue.
Always be someone people can trust.

The green of the tip of their wing
is saying Stay green, and you'll always grow.
The silver is the lining in the cloud's of doubt...
that you must look for as you go through life.

Butterflies bend with the wind, it's true.
Still they get where they want to go.
They arrive by persistence through their own insistence...
A lesson more people should know.

Sought and valued by the whole human race...
For their beauty, tenacity and charm.
If a butterfly ever chance's to stay at your sleeve...
remember, my friend, don't fight it, but,
learn all you can from the butterfly clan.
And you too, may become a rare item."

"Come with me, no shoe's allowed, let's go barefoot in the grass.
Hold my hand, as we remember, all the summer's of the past.
Eating ice cream in the sunshine, as it dribble's down our arm's.
Playing hopscotch and singing song's, Like "Old McDonald had a farm."

Orange soda and kool aid pop's and cooking hotdog's on the grill.
Trying to see who the strongest was, who would be King of the Hill?
Sitting by the lakeside, squishing sand between our toe's.
Chasing fireflies in the night sky, never knowing why they glowed.

Summer rain's that gently fell and washed my little face.
Sitting down at supper time, with family saying grace.
Thank you Lord for giving me these precious memories.
Older now but remembering, with every summer breeze..."

PER VIA DI NASO

Ti ho vista in sogno
che mi correvi incontro
sorpresa e soddisfatta
di avermi ritrovato,
felice anch'io
sia pur sentendo
che mi sapevi
persuaso dell'inganno
e che il trasporto
era soprattutto il mio.
E nel cristallo
della mia visione
per via di naso
è stato, intanto,
che ti ho baciato
contro un muro giallo
tenendo tra le braccia
il tuo profumo.
Svegliatomi in affanno
mi ha preso il desiderio
e mi è bruciato dentro
tutto il giorno,
ma non volevo spegnerlo
beato, restando
a cuocermi nel forno.

~ Paolo Ruffilli

-----------------------------

By way of nose

I saw you in a dream
running towards me
surprised and pleased
to have found me again,
I happy as well
yet sensing
you were aware of me
persuaded by the deceit
and that the impulse
was especially my own.
And in the crystal
of my vision
by way of nose
It was, meanwhile,
I kissed you against
a yellow wall
holding your scent in my arms.
Awoken with a gasp
desire filled me
and burnt inside
the whole day long,
I didn't care to put it out
happy to remain
roasting in that oven.

The Set of the Sails

Postby Cello64 on Tue 31 May, 2005 4:46 pm

One ship drives east, and another west
With the self-same winds that blow;
'Tis the set of the sails
And not the gales
That decides the way to go.

Like the winds of the sea are the ways of fate,
As they voyage along through life;
'Tis the will of the soul
That decides its goal,
And not the calm or the strife.

True love is honest, real beyond our imaginations...

Postby Cello64 on Tue 31 May, 2005 8:14 pm

True love is honest, real beyond our imaginations…

Powerful enough to span the ages and the universe…

If only we open our souls to believe…

And, though we believe, trials surely will come…

Sorrow and despair will test our spirits…

We must learn to summon courage and faith to our souls…

So that all we have been may continue to be…

In doing so, we discover eternity is possible only through love.

UN GIORNO DELLA LORO PRIMAVERA

Com’è difficile restare
Nel limbo vivo dei vecchi
Ancora giovani tanto da capire
L’odore e la lingua dei figli.

Si cerca la loro amicizia
Barattando la nostra, ma il cambio
Non è più conveniente, e loro
Lo fiutano nel regalo passato
Accomodato e ben confezionato
Per una ragionevole avanguardia.

Non solo fingono di ascoltare,
Gli occhi negli occhi
E un velo di sorriso sulle guance pelose,
A volte cedono perfino:
Un giorno della loro primavera
Per un pugno di preghiere noiose.
