The Singing Master

Postby Em on Tue 03 Oct, 2006 10:58 pm

I wrote this after the sanjose concert...

There was a silence like
I had never heard before,
although there were thousands,
I never heard a sound,
except for a soft whisper ,
as though a life were to begin.
I sat on the edge of my seat
And reached to touch
the space around me,
for I could feel something wonderful
stirring in the shadows
of the great stage.
Behind a misty veil
came forth,
The reason for life
The reason for everything
The singing messiah
And my love,
Who has taken my hand
When I was unsure.
He was so handsome,
There in that light
[fade][/fade]That kept changing
in vibrant hues,
to match the passion
dancing forth from his smile.
The breathless multitudes
Came to their feet,
With tears in their eyes
and outstretched
arms, hoping as I,
this ecstasy could last forever.
He just stood there
And grinned
And my life began again
and the moment of surrender,
entered my soul
taking an image of his love,
so that on the darkest of night,
even though the moon was hidden,
I could see his face and remember,
How he sung to me,
On that night of love..
That night of dreams.

That is absolutely beautiful Em!

I thought of another one of your poems too while I was flying to NY for Andrea's concert at Avery Fisher Hall. Soon after the plane had started its decent into New York, I was looking out the window at the multitude of small bodies of water, and then I smiled as I saw one that appeared to be in the shape of a dragon!

Snoufferk & LaCavallerizza...Thank you both, that was sweet of you..In a way, you wrote that poem too,as did all who love him, for in the essence, we all feel the same emotions, so how could I,in all truthfulness say that it was me...Some feelings that are so deep, don't really have words...Only the feelings have the words and sometimes its a process to'dig up"those words but when you find them, the words flow...I am always amazed of the thousands who have the same feelings...
LaCavallerizza, i had tears in my eyes when I read you saw the dragon too..that is very special..so you know that I wasn't kidding...There are times when a miracle happens and we know we are all one..If you ever thought of writing poetry, that proves you can and Snoufferk, you can too...

Lovely, Em, but I would prefer to see his smile, not grin, I think it sounds a bit hard, if I may say so, he realy smiles so sweet, like a little boy, and it is a softer more poetic word... don't you think?
Overall, you have performed a piece of art! Congrats!

I know what you are saying but then, that also, is a personal thing...I've always loved his grins..I don't necessary think it has harshness to it..I think it depends on the author and the suurounding feel of the words..but I do know what you mean..actually, when it comes right down to it, I rather like the word grin...He just has to grin and the whole world is new...there just seemes to be alot in his grin..

[font=Comic Sans MS]I was just going through the this section and come upon Em's poem from the San Jose Concert dated 10/03/06. It is such a beautiful poem and it's hard that we will no longer hear from Em except through these beautiful poems she had written before.

Em is dead. And we should let her R.I.P.

I don't understand. How is Em being kept from her eternal rest?

Dear Milleluna2... Just in Poetry... there is a topic written by me about the death of Em. Do not be sad, as Em did not wish to be remembered as such.
Thank you and wellcome to the organization of the Maestro Andrea Bocelli.

In poetry... as in very few things in life...
besides... literature and music...
no one is death Westsiderny....
Do not scare a new member with 2 posts
and tell her to...
and all of us....
that Em should Rest In Peace.
Yes, Em is not here to tell us
that she was going to die..
but...
I entered this forum for her...
for the friends she had here...
and in the glow of Em....
at least she made more than many here...
and
I remind you, once more in your life
Nellie Smith....
that do not underestimate the feelings of others
because, if Em cannot be here, I am,
and who knows...
maybe tomorrow will be me... or you...
I cannot forsee...
but, for sure... you would like, would you not Nellie
to be remembered,
no?... am I wrong?
But to tell a new member who approaches Poetry
that Em is not here...
is cruel, under my perspective,
as Em, did write to many and with love,
for the love she had for Andrea Bocelli...
and I have it all....
So, Em was kind, and a joy...
I do not think... that a fool can remind another fool
of the years ... gone, with the wind.

Thanks Nellie.
Wisdom is a virtue... not a right....

Even if my English is more British than American, I do not understand your comment....

You say, How is Em being kept from her eternal rest?

What do you wish to mean with this?

We have a topic here, dedicated and started from a wonderful member Victoria, who died 2 years ago, and all of us contribute to what is left of a person that loved Andrea Bocelli...

To answer you, I do not understand your sentence....

Can you please to be so kind to comment about your expression?

Pim

I was asking Westsiderny what she meant by her comment about Em being dead and how she shoud be left to "RIP". I am in total agreement with your post on the subject Pim. New members here are often frightened away. No one can hurt Em by remembering her. I should think any friend of Em,s would be be pleased to see her memory kept alive and her poetry appreciated still.

Maybe Westsider feels that having perpetual posts from a dead member adds a sense of morbidity to this forum or, perhaps, she wishes to avoid having a newcomer, who may address Em, being unsettled to discover that she is dead -and then may further wonder, who else is dead here. Whatever, I think Em would be more than pleased that her memory is kept alive by those who appreciated her poetry and her views on life. Really, it is a tribute so worth the risk in my view.
