"Romance"

Romance is a state of mind. An attitude. It's not so much what you do as how you do it. This is why little gestures work so well. It's also why some people just don't get it when it comes to Romance. If you approach romance and relationships with a cynical attitude or a rigid overly practical state of mind --
You just won't tune in to what's going on here.

Surprises are an integral part of the romantic lifestyle. The everydayand ordinary can be made into the unexpected and Special. Surprises come in all shapes and sizes
and in all budget ranges. Make up your mind to add surprise to your life Romance is about the little things a call from work for no other reason than to say: "I LOVE YOU." And make it a habit. Make compliments at least once a day. Hug often. Wildflower bouquets. Bring home a favorite classic movie.

ROMANCE: Some associate it with a place...
For others, it is sparked by a song.
It can develop over a lifetime.
or emerge in a moment....

XXXIX

Il modo tuo d'amare
è lasciare che io t'ami.
Il sì con cui ti abbandoni
è il silenzio. I tuoi baci
sanno offrirmi le labbra
perché io le baci.
Mai parole, abbracci
mi diranno che sei esistita
che mi hai amato: mai.
Me lo dicono fogli bianchi,
mappe, telefoni, presagi;
tu, no.
E sto abbracciato a te
senza chiederti nulla, per timore
che non sia vero
che tu vivi e mi ami.
E sto abbracciato a te
senza guardare e senza toccarti.
Perché non debba mai scoprire
con domande o carezze
l'immensa solitudine
d'essere solo ad amarti.

There is a privacy about it which no other season gives you....
In spring, summer and fall people sort of have an open season on each other; only in the winter,
in the country, can you have longer, quiet stretches when you can savor belonging to yourself.

Il cuore è pieno di farfalle d’oro
che volano e scintillano.
Cento campanellini squillano
dentro di me con lieve
ritmo argentino.
I pensieri compaiono, scompaiono,
giocano a rimpiattino,
fanno a palle di neve...
E il verso brontola...
Sono stanco delle parole
consuete.
Ho sete
di cantarti, o cuore,
liberamente
saltando ridendo piangendo d’amore.

Un fuoco sottile affiora rapido alla pelle,
e ho buio negli occhi e il rombo

e morte non pare lontana
a me rapita di mente.

"Do not believe in anything simply because you have heard it.
Do not believe in anything simply because it is spoken and rumoured by many.
Do not believe in anything simply because it is found written in your religious books.
Do not believe in anything merely on the authority of your teachers and elders.
Do not believe in traditions because they have been handed down for many generations.
But after observation and analysis, when you find that anything agrees with reason
and is conducive to the good and benefit of one and all, then accept it and live up to it. "

VENEZIA

Ho visto un'ombra
giocare con uno
specchio d'acqua,
un tappo di sughero
ballare sulle onde,
delle voci rincorrersi
su cavalloni
d'echi sbizzarriti.

Ho visto la vita muoversi,
tra scalini e calle.

Ho guardato colombi,
disegnare il cielo
con le loro piume.

Ho visto volti
sorpresi, stupiti,
annoiati e luminosi.

Mani strette
ad altre mani,
intrecciate
da sentimenti.

Ho ascoltato
in angoli bui,
parole sussurrate,
piccole parole,
che parlavano di un mondo
d'amore eterno.

Ho visto i nostri passi,
camminare soli
tra la folla.

Ho visto la Venezia!

"Beauty is confidence. Beauty is a smiling face.
It is an appreciation of everything you are blessed with,
without focusing on the trait's you missed out on.
Beauty is having a passion for life,
and the ability to live in the moment.
Beauty is serenity, warmth, strength, knowledge,
kindness and respect. Beauty is wisdom. "

FRIENDSHIP

And a youth said, Speak to us of Friendship.
And he answered, saying:
Your friend is your needs answered.
He is your field which you sow with love and reap with thanksgiving.
And he is your board and your fireside.

For you come to him with your hunger, and you seek him for peace.
When your friend speaks his mind you fear not the "nay" in your own mind, nor do you withhold the "ay".

And when he is silent your heart ceases not to listen to his heart;
For without words, in friendship, all thoughts, all desires, all expectations are born and shared, with joy that is unclaimed.

When you part from your friend, you grieve not;
For that which you love most in him may be clearer in his absence,
as the mountain to the climber is clearer from the plain.

And let there be no purpose in friendship save the deepening of the spirit.
For love that seeks aught but the disclosure of its own mystery is not love but a net cast forth: and only the unprofitable is caught.

And let your best be for your friend.
If he must know the ebb of your tide, let him know the flood also.
For what is your friend that you should seek him with hours to kill?
Seek him always with hours to live.
For it is his to fill your need, but not your emptiness.
And in the sweetness of friendship let there be laughter, and sharing of pleasures.

For in the dew of little things the heart finds its morning and is refreshed.

"Everybody can be great... because anybody can serve.
You don't have to have a college degree to serve.
You don't have to make your subject and verb agree to serve.
You only need a heart full of grace. A soul generated by love."

e sorridono comunque
A TUTTE NOI...BUONA VITA

Now spring brings back unchilled warmth,
now the ecquinoctical rage of the sky
grows silent with the pleasant breezes of the west wind.
The Phrygian fields should be quitted, Catullus,
& the fertile territory of sweltering Iznik:
let us fly to the bright cities of Asia.
Now the mind trembling in anticipation yearns to roam,
now the happy feet grow strong in their pastime.
Be well, o sweet company of friends,
who having wandered far from home together
return in different ways to a route headed in a different direction.

~ Catullus 46

è primavera, tornano i giorni miti
e la brezza leggera dello zefiro
spegne nel cielo la furia dell'inverno.
Lasciamo i campi della Frigia, Catullo,
le pianure fertili e afose di Nicea;

SOLITUDE

To sit on rocks, to muse o'er flood and fell,
To slowly trace the forest's shady scene,
Where things that own not man's dominion dwell,
And mortal foot hath ne'er or rarely been;
To climb the trackless mountain all unseen,
With the wild flock that never needs a fold;
Alone o'er steeps and foaming falls to lean;
This is not solitude, 'tis but to hold
Converse with Nature's charms, and view her stores unrolled.

But midst the crowd, the hurry, the shock of men,
To hear, to see, to feel and to possess,
And roam alone, the world's tired denizen,
With none who bless us, none whom we can bless;
Minions of splendour shrinking from distress!
None that, with kindred consciousness endued,
If we were not, would seem to smile the less
Of all the flattered, followed, sought and sued;
This is to be alone; this, this is solitude!

IL CANTO

Quando canti sento il mondo
Tutto aperto entrarmi dentro:
minacciato da un dolcissimo male
si rifugia intero nel mio corpo.
"Vattene, vattene via..."
