Just heard Andrea's name mentioned on Classic FM and it appears he is doing a concert, but I have no idea where .....

Italian operatic maestro Andrea Bocelli will be gracing the stage at The O2 Arena on 30th June for the venue’s inaugural classical gala.

The Inaugural Classical Gala

Its "the Dome" Caroline. I am beginning to get a complex. Not only do i miss Lajatico by three days but I might have been able to get reduced rate tickets for this concert. Sob sob.Instead of which I will be in Volterra.

Yes, I found that out since......23,000 seats.......mmmmm

Why reduced rates ? Are you an 02 customer ?

I think I'd rather be in Volterrra......

Ticket prices have just been put up: £75 - £125

Oooooo - where's the Dome? Is it in central London?
'How is the greatest tenor in the world?' asked McCormack.
'When did you become a baritone?' replied Caruso.

Block A2, row K - thrilled with that as we were miles back when we went to Wembley last year!

I've got tickets too! I can't believe it - I was driving back from Tesco last night (oh the exciting life I lead!) and I heard it, or part of it, on ClassicFM as well. Ran in and checked on the website and this morning at five minutes past nine I was in the doctor's car park phoning for tickets! Everyone must have thought I'd gone mad - huge grin on my face!

Block A2, row K

SNAP!! Seats 18-19 - where are you sitting Michelle?

Comment se fait-il qu'à seulement 5 semaines ce concert ne soit pas encore annoncé officiellement ?

Annulation possible ?

Hi just managed to get tickets as well!!! What excitement after the disappointment about Lajatico. We priced a four day visit to Italy and decided that £800 would be too much at the moment and then I saw the message on the OS about the concert in London. We've got Block A2 row L so we'll be just behind you Michelle and Lelly. I'm just so excited about it especially as we have decided to stay at the Hilton Canary Wharf for the night and make it a special weekend.

In answer to your question Francesca I think it most unlikely this concert will be cancelled. There are other events planned for the opening of the O2 Arena and I doubt very much that they are dependent upon ticket sales to the general public. They have probably only just confirmed the line-up.

... and better to have the ticket in hand if you want to go...

they'd all be snapped up if you waited ...

you can always get reimbursed for a ticket if a show cancels

Certamente ma non è possibile prevedere un viaggio dall'estero senza conferma ufficiale, perché si puo' perdere il prezzo del treno o dell'aereo.

Comunque no ci andro', posti e alberghi troppo cari .

I know what you mean Francesca. I never think of attending concerts in lLondon because of the costs of getting there ,tickets and hotels. It is often cheaper to go abroad.

If they begin to sell the tickets, it should be official. It seems to be a problem of communication on the part of the management at the moment. If there would not be the announcement on Classic FM, nobody would know about it.

I`m glad for those who have not the opportunity to go to Lajatico, that they now have the chance to see Andrea in London - and I agree with you, Kay, it will be probably not cheaper than to go to Italy!
I am very sorry for you that you miss both concerts! What a pitty!

By the way, the Princess Diana tribute concert will be on July 1 in London, one day later. Carolina told us that she heard Andrea maybe will perform at that event (but until today he is still not on the list of performers).

This could be a reason to make a short-term deal with the O2 arena - that`s only a supposition....

Lelly - seats 22-23! We can't miss each other at that rate!

Michelle - perhaps the people inbetween us will swap - if we keep nattering over them they'll probably be glad to!

Gill - I don't believe this - guess where we're staying - yes the Hilton! We must get together - I'll send you an email.

Incidentally, and sorry to those who are bored with our reminiscing, remember that restaurant that we went to before the NIA concert? Well I didn't know this but Rob had sneaked in one of my ABCDs and he asked the manager to play it for us, and he refused! How's that for customer service? I bet most of the people there were going to the NIA, but I know something for sure, we won't be going there again!

Thank you for your sympathy Anne. I really shouldn't complain. I AM going to Italy. In allprobability i shall ,at least SEE the Teatro and I am also going to be able to meet a friend from the US. I have a lot to be thankful for.
It just seems WRONG somehow to go to Italy and not see Andrea.
I really don't think anyone needs to worry about the O2 concert. My husband is an O2 employee. Had he also been a fan i might have been able to alert you all to this concert earlier.! I think he now realises this.....

I hadn't thought of that Anne. I think it very likely he will be at the Diana concert then...
