Concert for Diana

Postby Motoko on Thu 10 May, 2007 3:08 am

Caroline told us that Andrea might participate in the Princess Diana tribute concert. (Thanks Caroline!)

Here's the official website.
http://www.concertfordiana.com/

Prince William and Prince Harry will mark the 10th anniversary of their mother's death with an event to celebrate her life.

The Concert for Diana on 1st July 2007, which would have been Diana's 46th birthday, will be one of the first events to take place in the new Wembley Stadium.

Extra tickets are going on sale tomorrow, Friday 27 April, at 9am. Click "Tickets" for more information.

Proceeds from the concert will go to charities supported by the late Princess, and to charities of which the Princes are Patrons.

If you are unlucky and miss out on tickets, join us here online, or watch out for the TV broadcast of the concert and take part in the celebration, Concert for Diana.

More artists should be announced soon, so let's keep an eye on the information.

I've always thought that Diana would have been a big fan of Andrea's. I hope he does take part in the concert.

I also feel that Diana would have been a fan of Andrea. I wonder if anyone knows for sure?
Fergie is certainly a fan and she would know..I will have to think of a way of asking her. We don't see each other much these days!

here's a nice little interview between Harry and William about "The concert for their Mum".

____________________

" Harry: It’s the perfect opportunity and to celebrate her life with a concert with music and people just smiling and having fun, hopefully which is what they’re going be doing, waving their arms in the air ... like they just don’t care! (laughs)

William: I was just about to say that second bit!

Harry: I don’t think there’s any better way to celebrate her life really.

I didn't notice until now but there is a mention of the Andrew Lloyd Webber medley on his page on the official site of the concert.

I wonder if Andrea would sing something from the Phantom of the Opera?!!! lol!
'How is the greatest tenor in the world?' asked McCormack.
'When did you become a baritone?' replied Caruso.

MUSICA: BOCELLI UNICO ITALIANO PER CONCERTO IN OMAGGIO A LADY DIANA
Roma, 29 giu. - (Adnkronos) - "Faro' un percorso all'inverso perche' per me, in realta', Lajatico e' la partenza e Londra e' l'arrivo. Londra oggi e' la capitale economica del mondo. Cantero' in inglese, sto studiando ora il pezzo che e' molto bello, ma l'emozione piu' grande probabilmente la provero' al Teatro del Silenzio perche' sono nato e cresciuto a Lajatico e sara' bellissimo tornarci a cantare: un concerto unico e difficilmente ripetibile, di canzoni pop".

You guessed, Michele! :)

Bocelli sara' protagonista di un omaggio di Andrew Lloyd Webber: cantera' "Music of the night", brano tratto da "Phantom of the Opera".
