Are we talking about downloading it to save it, or just watching it on the Youtube site ? I wonder if people think that if they are watching it on the site they are downloading it....this is not the case.

I have asked Gerrit about putting video from Youtube on his site and he says he has not yet managed to capture any video from there, so I would imagine that if he can't do it, it ain't easy !

Downloading from youtube

I wish someone would tell me if you can do that and how. I do know that your computer creates a temp file or such because I can still replay it even if I have been disconnected from the web as long as I keep the youtube page open.

Gerrit is the man who owns this wonderful site http://www.classicalrelatedperformances ... ocelli.htm

I have asked him if he can put this one on his site:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vzzzs6KjC5U
a great early performance by Andrea.
He replied that he had not yet succeeded in getting any video off Youtube but that he considers it a challenge.

I have no idea how he does it any of it but am very grateful that he does !

I'm so sorry that you were led astray on that Youtube thing. As we all know one can only download videos into the "Favorites" section in your Youtube account. As far as I know they cannot be saved to your computer.

correct me if I am wrong. I do not have a "YouTube" account. Some of these videos are (to me) price less and have enjoyed them over, over, several times. I just clicked on
"favorites" button on the toolbar of my pc.

see an example: TOPIC: Treasures: A blog of Andrea Bocelli - Author:DueBaci posted today. This link had seveal YouTube videos. I found only one (1) was not working any more.

Jacky, all you need to do it to go to Youtube's site. In the search box type: bocelli and it will come up with every video that has that word in its title, or tags. Then I always go to "date added" and click on that, so you get the latest video that some kind soul has put on there. All that you need to do then is click on the title and the video should start to play. Sometimes it does not work, then just come out and go back in again.
You cannot save them, but you can go to the site as many times as you like and play them in there. You do not need an account, but it may be worthwhile to register, then you can rate videos and post comments on them.
Tip: try different spellings of the name too.....

Thank you Caroline. I was just saying have two (2) saved on my pc "favorite list" that I watch over and over. Actually, Dell'amore Non Si Sa is playing right now as I type. Also, I believe I have watched most everyone of the YouTube videos of Andrea Bocelli as well as the ones with other people singing his songs. If you looked at the Blog "Treasures" through the link provided by DueBaci, it even says (in part), 'some are not available', "Meldey" was one not able to access.

I stand corrected

Thanks

Just hopped on to say Congratulations, JackyD! I thought it was hard and then by accident in email I discovered how to do it. One bump in the learning curve smoothed. Oh, I hadn't noticed before but you joined on Andrea's birthday, coolo!
