Andrea at the Pyramids

Postby Lelly on Wed 22 Nov, 2006 9:09 pm

I've just been watching my video of Andrea at the Pyramids in 2003 - wonderful concert, great video, full of atmospheric shots of the pyramids, the sphinx, the orchestra, and of course our man himself. Looking so handsome, hair gently wafted by a warm breeze - and then I spotted the clothes pegs! I just had to laugh, there holding down the music of several of the members of the orchestra, the brightest coloured clothes pegs I have everseen! Shocking pink, luminous green .............. gave me a good laugh - what was that about necessity being the mother of invention?

You are quite right. I had a good laugh when I watched my video again a while ago.

They had to use clothes pegs at the concert in Galway in July too, it was so windy - but not the brightly coloured ones though!
'How is the greatest tenor in the world?' asked McCormack.
'When did you become a baritone?' replied Caruso.

I noticed those clothes-pegs on my recording of Andrea at the Pyramids, too. Maybe the odd "Mummy" was intending to do a bit of washing, after the show...

Don't worry Darcy, Mummies are always worthy of a good pun or two!
