Again New York??!?
You must be very lucky there!

Well, now the fans in Germany get to know, that because of this new US tour the Munich concert from December 12 must have been postponed to January 13......

Oh, this is so tempting - after NY, I want so much to go to another concert. If only I could afford to travel to the US a second time I would be right there!!!
I keep hoping they will add a concert in Canada, it would be so amazing if he came to Toronto or somewhere nearby.

I'm hoping for the same thing but it looks like there's not a lot of free dates left! Keep your fingers crossed - he was at the Air Canada Centre last year so I hope he comes back again.

I'm really keeping my fingers crossed too!

The dates for the US tour indicated were until Dec 15th and so far the last date is the 10, then the next concert I could see was the 16 in Malta.
That leaves the week of the 11th to the 15th! (and it seems there are several nights available that week between the Air Canada Centre, Roy Thompson Hall and our nice new Opera House!!

Good to know that there is at least one week free. Any one of those locations would be great for me. If NY was on a weekend instead of on a Thursday, I would have seriously considered going back if he doesn't come closer to home.

Seattle and Portland concerts have been cancelled according to Ticketmaster. On Andrea's management site they have put in 2 different venues..no reason given.....

I guess I should be grateful (?) Chicago and the midwest are regularly ignored by Andrea's schedule makers. Better to not have a concert listed at all than to have one posted, get all excited, and then have it snatched away. Good luck to anyone with a concert scheduled who ISN'T in the NYC/New England area. Seems like those folks are the only ones who have guaranteed regular concerts from Andrea. The rest of us are :(

It is reasonable to assume that the concerts were cancelled because ticket sales were not up to a certain level. Perhaps there are not great numbers of fans in Portland and Seattle who are willing to spend the money at that level for a concert. It is also possible that venues for the Chicago area (my home town!) were not available in the time frame Andrea could be there or that the owners of these venues were not willing to meet the contract requirements to have a concert there.

I know it is disappointing when certain areas do not have a concert, but it is not reasonable for fans to take the scheduling of these concerts so personally.

Cami,

In my area, when I mention a Bocelli concert a lot of people say, oh, wasn't he supposed to come to Oxford but he cancelled ?
That sort of things sticks and he will be blamed, regardless of whether it was his management, the venue or whoever.

And if you can't take it personally, how are you suppossed to take it ....just rip up your airline ticket or hotel booking and say well, it's only money ?

We are so lucky, especially you Meri. I am really tempted to buy a ticket and fly to florida for the concert. It is actually pretty close to home and I would really love to go to another concert. I am glad that Andrea's management decided to send him down to the "dirty south" once more. 8)

And the venue Seminole Hard Rock Hollywood Casino looks very tempting. I am already shaking my bon-bon.

The trip to the 'dirty south' will make a very nice Winter escape too!

The concerts weren't supposed to take place for over a month yet. Seems like they hardly gave the folks up there much chance to get tix. According to a poster at BocelliLand, though, the Seattle show was nearly sold out and being advertised on tv. I admit to not knowing everything (naturally!) regarding availability of venues in the Chicago area but I can't believe it hasn't been available for a regular concert in over four years! Yes, we did get a stop on the Christmas tour last year but everyone knows that not the same thing as a standard concert. I am not taking anything "personally", I'm just looking at the facts as best as I can see them. It's very easy for east coast people to say "now, now, don't be that way" to people in the rest of the country, as you buy your sure-thing tickets and decide which outfit to wear and where you'll have your pre-concert dinners. Try looking at it from the other side sometime.

Well I do not plan to go to any of the East Coast concerts this time and the last concert I went to (not counting Avery Fisher Hall) was at the Hollywood Bowl!

You and the others have made very valid points, Janice, but such scheduling changes are really quite common for these events, and not just for Andrea. Also, tickets have been put on sale for events that have not yet even been officially announced on Andrea's site. If some of these venues jump the gun, how can he control this?

I don't know the answers but I do know that there are so many behind-the-scenes goings-on that we have no knowledge of. I just prefer to give Andrea and, yes, his management, or more properly in this case those who are in charge of running the US tour, the benefit of the doubt.

If I buy a ticket for anything, I pretty much know that it is at my own risk. Twice last year two tenors that I wanted to hear very much cancelled out of two different operas that I held tickets for. I was very disappointed, naturally, ma, e' cosi'.

On the "World Tour" section there is a Disclaimer that reads:

(DATE SOGGETTE A CAMBIAMENTI / DATES SUBJECT TO CHANGES)

I called Key Arena to see if they had any
information, and all they could tell me was that Andrea's management had
called to cancel the concert at Key Arena and the Portland concert. No
reason why.

Andrea's management also purchased 20 tickets that were for seats in the
first few rows at the Key Arena, and gave them to PBS TV to make money for
their programming. Those seats were sold for $1000 each within an hour. That
is $20,000.00. I know this because I was watching PBS.

I am not young anymore and disabled, so this was going to be quit a treat
for me. Now it's gone with know reason why, or if Andrea will reschedule.

Thank you for answering my e-mail

Changer la date est une chose, annuler en est une autre.

Où sont les nouvelles dates pour les villes concernées ? Nous n'attendons que cela.

What's the purpose to keep beating a dead horse? I am sure there is a valid reason for the concerts to be cancelled. It happens all the time with other performers too. I feel sorry for the fans that are affected by this, but please, give us a break!
