I did post just now but it seems to have gone ?

Anyway, Joan Mulcahy has posted a nice review in the meantime, see Kilkenny 23rd July, and I can only agree with her.
He was in fine form, both musially and physically, seemed relaxed, and joked with the audience that we may have noticed he had changed his jacket, but it was not because he was sweaty - an obvious reference to the chilly evening......

There are some photos from Kilkenny on BFSue's Bocelliland.

Bocelli says hello and good-bye to Kilkenny with his signature tune
By Naoise O' Donovan Coogan

It was a beautiful evening - the perfect backdrop to the night of opera and light opera that lay ahead at the unlikely location of Nowlan Park. Andrea Bocelli had the crowd of over 10,000 people in the palm of his hand from the opening note. The blind heart-throb came out on stage with the help of conductor Maestro Marcello Rota who almost (but not quite!) stole the show with his quirky conducting antics. Once Bocelli opened his mouth, the audience erupted.

With the support of the spectacular Czech National Symphony Orchestra and Band and the Prague Chamber Choir, Andrea Bocelli melted the hearts of his adoring public with a selection of operatic and classical jazz numbers from the huge stage erected in the old stand at Nowlan Park.

Bocelli was everything I would have expected from hearing his CDs and what I had heard from others who had seen him live in the past. He truly does have the voice of an angel - a sexy angel at that!

and look at the beautiful photo of his... Sexy angel...? You bet!

There was a nice article in the Irish Examiner on Monday 24th, with a really nice and BEEEG photo. I cannot find it online though, but I have a copy of the paper and a photo of the photo and the article.

To get a bigger picture than the one shown in the Kilkenny Advertiser:

http://www.kilkennyadvertiser.ie/index.php?aid=2029

If you go to the link and open up the page, look down the left hand column, click on pdf file, that should open with actual pages from the paper. Scroll down about 2/3rds and then you can click on the pic and enlarge it. Save it in Paint......nice

Link may work from here: http://www.kilkennyadvertiser.ie/pdf.php

It was Bocelli. He came. He performed. He conquered.

Bocelli of the golden voice enthrals Nowlan Park audience
KILKENNY played host to a world renowned performer at the weekend who sang his way into the heart of the masses.

"Italy's Andrea Bocelli, one of opera's most important and charismatic figures, kept a capacity audience spellbound at Nowlan Park on Sunday evening during the latest performance on his European concert tour.
Bocelli, a modern tenor in the old style as he likes to describe himself, turned in a virtuouso performance that earned numerous standing ovations from an enthralled near 15,000 attendance.
