an article in Il Resto del Carlino also said .. that Pavarotti stated he's made a new CD.. .and he specifically asked Andrea for his opinion.

Indeed he did, as many of us heard in the short video on YouTube a while back. And, although my ear couldn't catch all the nuances in Italian, Andrea, in his characteristically gracious way, responded that it was he (Andrea) who should be asking advice of the Maestro, not the other way around.

I'm sure all our positive thoughts and prayers are with the Maestro. Thanks for finding this update on his status, DueBaci.

One month ago Mr Pavarotti telephoned the Film & Music GlobalFest in
Ischia to reassure his fans that he was well. He said to Andrea
Bocelli, a fellow singer: "I am recording an album, come and sing a
duet with me".

His agent said that the album of religious and lesser-known arias
would be on sale by Christmas. Pavarotti is also said to be giving
singing lessons at his house in Pesaro.

Plus de peur que de mal. Luciano Pavarotti est dans un état de santé "satisfaisant" et se trouve actuellement "en observation" après avoir été hospitalisé pour un "état fiévreux", a indiqué jeudi l'hôpital de Modène. "Il pourra sortir dans les prochains jours", a ajouté l'établissement.

Il bollettino medico diffuso poco prima delle 14, dopo un consulto tra la moglie del cantante, Nicoletta Mantovani, ed i medici del reparto è tranquillizzante, ma molto scarno di particolari. Dice soltanto che il maestro è sotto osservazione per uno stato febbrile e le "sue condizioni sono soddisfacenti. Potrà essere dimesso già nei prossimi giorni". Le voci che si rincorrono però parlano di una insufficienza respiratoria, forse complicata da una insufficienza renale in un paziente che, dopo l'operazione a New York di un anno fa per l'asportazione di un tumore al pancreas, è debilitato, anche per le cure a cui si é dovuto sottoporre in questi 13 mesi per far fronte al cancro...

...Un'infermiera del reparto, uscendo alla fine del turno di lavoro ha detto che il cantante ha una gran voglia di star bene, "legge e ascolta musica per quello che può" ed ha ringraziato tutti per il lavoro che stanno facendo. Secondo un'altra testimonianza raccolta a Modena, a tenere compagnia al cantante ci sarebbe ogni tanto anche uno degli amici che con lui erano soliti giocare a briscola. Molto di più non si sa. Nulla é stato comunicato sugli accertamenti e sulle cure a cui è stato sottoposto. Domani forse sarà emesso un altro bollettino medico. Ma neanche questo è sicuro. Intanto a Modena, e non solo nella città emiliana, tutti si augurano per big Luciano non sia cominciata l'ultima battaglia, quella più difficile.

From what I read everywhere he seems to be much better now.
Let's hope the best for him!
My mother was very ill from cancer 2 years ago and she is better now.
Pavarotti is a strong man,I hope he can leave the hospital soon.

Las noticias hoy en mi pais hablaban de mucha esperanza en su recuperacion.
Su esposa hablo con la prensa y le dijo a los medios que su estado de salud estaba ya mejorando. ¡ asi sea!
