Thank you Anne! I am just having the time of my life. So much energy and the sound clips are very long, not the usual tiny mini 30 sec...

I am listening to track 20:

Non ci pensate,
Verrà in piazza.
(al Coro)
Intanto amici, qua,
Beviamone un bicchiere.
(Tutti si avvicinano alla tavola dell'osteria
e prendono i bicchieri.)
Viva il vino spumeggiante
Nel bicchiere scintillante,
Come il riso dell'amante
Mite infonde il giubilo!
Viva il vino ch'è sincero
Che ci allieta ogni pensiero,
E che annega l'umor nero,
Nell'ebbrezza tenera.
CORO
Viva il vino spumeggiante, ecc.

And what do you think of this?

Track 23.

Mamma,
Quel vino è generoso, e certo
Oggi troppi bicchieri
Ne ho tracannati...
Vado fuori all'aperto.
Ma prima voglio
Che mi benedite
Come quel giorno
Che partii soldato.
E poi... mamma... sentite...
S'io... non tornassi...
Voi dovrete fare
Da madre a Santa,
Ch'io le avea giurato
Di condurla all'altare

 =D>

He sang this song at the beginning of the Antwerp concert and that was what was shown on the television news the day after.
So for me this song-which I didn't know before -has now become a great souvenir.
I am happy to hear some classical Bocelli again, after the amore cd,and so quickly after Pagliacci.
Vivo il vino.....lalalalla......

Ah....I LOVE it, it`s one of my favoutite arias!
First time I heard Andrea singing this aria was in June 2002 at the concert in Aarhus/Denmark, it must have been shortly before the recording of this new disc at Teatro Massimo Bellini....

And this one (Track 24.) leaves me breathless!!!

TURIDDU

Oh! nulla!
È il vino che mi ha suggerito!
Per me pregate Iddio!
Un bacio, mamma...
Un altro bacio... addio!

(L'abbraccia ed esce precipitosamente.)

LUCIA
(disperata, correndo in fondo)
Turiddu?! Che vuoi dire?
Turiddu? Turiddu? Ah!
(Entra Santuzza.)
Santuzza!...

SANTUZZA
(Getta la braccia al collo di Lucia.)
Oh! madre mia!

Si sente un mormorio lontano.)

DONNE
(correndo)
Hanno ammazzato compare Turiddu!

...well, after Turiddu`s "farewell" it ends very dramatic, like so many operas....

Like Tosca, for instance? But this one really impresses me the most... maybe because it is Andrea (whoops! I meant Turiddu) who is saying: Un altro bacio... addio! :)

I remember that the Intermezzo from Cavalleria Rusticana has been played very often at Andrea`s concerts, so I looked to the programs of the concerts I have visited, and right: in seven from ten concerts it was part of the program! So it seems to be a favourite music piece of Andrea?!?

whoops

..but Tosca is more dramatic and sad, because Andrea/Cavaradossi was shot on stage...after he has been tortured..

Are you trying to make me cry? :) Unfortunately, I didn't see Tosca. Had to cancel my trip to Torre del Lago at the last minute. I bet I could make a fool of myself with my sobbings... Maybe jump on stage and hit those soldiers with my purse...!

'How is the greatest tenor in the world?' asked McCormack.
'When did you become a baritone?' replied Caruso.
