well I really hope you didn't miss it - because it was just FANTASTIC! He sang Maria from West Side Story - I've wanted to hear him sing that for as long as I've been a fan, and it was worth the wait. He looked very nervous to start with but he sang it beautifully - only he can produce those delicate, quavering notes at the end. Ah Andrea, you've done it again! And I've only just put my tablets away ...

Yes! I loved him singing that song! He sounded brilliant as ever! And Celine Dion was fantastic too!

He seemed to start very suddenly, almost as if caught unawares.
That end note was ABsolutely beautiful

I think he was a bit taken aback by the applause at the start - as if he wasn't expecting it! It's a very quiet start too, perhaps he was being considerate and didn't want to start until we could hear him - how nice!

It's interesting Jan, you saying it suited his voice, I was thinking just the opposite.
I loved the "Maria" bits, where he sang, and showed the power of his voice, and that last line was gorgeous, but I was not so keen on the bits in between.
It was lovely to see him though, and we got some great smiles.

Just as well he does such a variety of songs - something for everyone!

We have the radio concert to look forward to as well....I think we're being spoilt here in the UK, don't you ?

Maria isn't one of my favourite songs but I really enjoyed Andrea singing it. I think it was because Andrea has this quality of putting so much emotion into his voice. It was beautiful........

'How is the greatest tenor in the world?' asked McCormack.
'When did you become a baritone?' replied Caruso.
