:?: :) Does anyone have a good “tried and true” recipe for Tirimisu that they would be willing to share?

The correct spelling is Tiramisu. I've never try to make it but here is a good Italian recipes site. It even has the History of Tiramisu.

Buon appetito!

Do you think that it is OK to post it on this website? It is not really about AB. I wonder if Renate would mind.

I'm not sure how the rules concerning this would work, but feel free to email me. It is "Italian" related :)

I hope that you enjoy this recipe. It also looks great.
6 eggs separated
1/2cup(125 ml) granulated sugar
1 Lb(500g) mascarpone cheese
1/2cup (125ml) espresso coffee at room temperature
1/3 cup(75ml) Kahlua or Tia Maria
24 ladyfingers (Savoiardo are best)
unsweetened cocoa powder

With electric beater mix egg yolks and sugar until thick and lemon colored.
Add mascarpone and beat until smooth
Beat egg whites until soft peaks form. Fold into mascarpone mixture.
Combine coffee and liqueur. Dip half the ladyfingers into coffee mixture and place in single layer in glass serving bowl.
Cover with half the mascarpone mixture.
Repeat with the remaining ladyfingers and mascarpone
Dust with cocoa powder. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate 6 to 8 hours, preferably overnight.
Makes 6 yo 8 servings supposedly but it never seems to last that long.
Have fun.

Thanks! Looks great. Didn't have enough room for desserts when I was in Tuscany in June so I'm definitely going to give this a try.

:)Thank you to all! The above recipe looks really good and not to hard to
make. I copied one from your suggested site, Nellie. So we'll try them both and let you know later. "The proof is in the pudding,"you know.

As I mentioned on my message forum (Bocelli Land) this is the best site for Tiramisu...http://www.heavenlytiramisu.com/basic.htm.
I had it numerous times and it is never the same but must admit the best I had was in Venice!
