Arriving in Cape Verde, I hear the sound of two great voices of many great voices...

Lura sings "Marinhêro" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mY9KyTYjxQ0

and

Cesaria Evora sings "Bésame Mucho" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Esdl_3kKSBk

PS: I really love the version of Bésame Mucho sung by our Maestro... He sings it with that special feeling. But however, Senhora Cesaria is a great singer!

Tell me about it! I've been living without a TV set for almost 2 years. I canceled my cable subscription when the presidential elections started. I couldn't stand looking at the faces of the candidates day and night! . Now, I have only the basic service and hardly watch TV anyway. As you say, you can see everything in the Internet. By the way, I edited my previous message. I was asking you if you had seen the 2009 Astro Boy movie.

Contrary to you, I have many other interests besides Andrea Bocelli. Otherwise, I could go crazy! Sometimes I even get bored looking at my same same face on the mirror everyday. Can you imagine if I listen to him 24/7? I could be hating him by now! No offense whatsoever. I am just been honest, that's all. Adulation is not my cup of tea anyway... :eye:

I have although many other interests; forigne languages for example and music (almost all kind of it)... But I can't stand a day without the voice of Andrea Bocelli... I had to stop hearing him for years (because I was young, lived with my father who doesn't like him) and now, that I'm living alone, I listen to his music every single day. I love his Arias and I love his pop songs. I love his concerts (I have only recorded ones  ) and I love his interviews. I like the way he thinks. He's a big example...
I'm although interested in aviation. My studies are about aviation "at the moment"...
And I love travalling...
I watch my favorit series on TV (like LOST, at the moment on Kabel eins, 5th Season  )...
But Andrea Bocelli is a special interest; the biggest and the most important for me...

Yes I said "I just love Andrea Bocelli", but I wanted to say, that I almost just listen to his music  I know that I'll never hate him and I'll never get bored of his voice. And "Songs in different languages" are a welcome change for me; but it would never pass a day without listening to Andrea Bocelli, NEVER

Earlier, I watched InuYasha and Detective Conan  But now, that I'm older (and I'm getting older and older) I can't watch them without thinking about a hard childhood I'd like to forget...

Back to the Lebanon...
A singer named "Magda El Roumi" (or "Majda Al Roumi" or a mix of them) is a great singer, known all around the arabic world.
I selected a long song of hers (about 10:34 min., with English translation) because it's one of the wonderful songs ever.

I hope you enjoy it...

Let me post here a song which is the soundtrack of a japanese movie, called "Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter and Spring). From the day I watched the film I can't really forget it, neither the music...it touched me a lot...for the simplicity, the poetry, the truth, the beauty of the picture...........
I 'm not familiar with the asian music at all, I only have watched some japanese films already so maybe it sounds to me too "exotic", too "different" and maybe this is the reason I "stuck" with this...
It is a traditional song...

Dear sofiagreece, this is a Korean song. The discription tells us so too. But anyway, it's a beautiful song.
I visited a Japanese course for a term and sometimes I just can hear the differences between Japanese, Korean and Chinese language.

A very famous Serbian musician is Goran Bregovic whose music I really enjoy!
His sound is distinctive in a way that you can recognize him from the first notes...

"هذه ليتي" (This Is My Night) is a song sung by Om Kolthum (a great legend in Egypte). Here is the instrumental version for those who like dancing belly-dance...

Here is maybe the best greek singer of the 50s, 60s and 70s who used to sing a specific type of songs. He was very famous especially among the "poor" people of the past decades (but not only) and he became a true legend. For sure he had a really great voice!

I love belly-dancing! I took lessons many years ago and had so much fun! It was the best decision I could make after I suffered some injuries at the gym for not knowing how to use the equipment properly. It is a good exercise and helps to keep the stomach bulges away. And the clothes used are so beautiful. I still have mine... just as a souvenir. :)
