Cari amici,
siamo nuovamente vicini al Natale; un anno è passato con la rapidità di un lampo, eppure, quante città ho visitato, quante mani ho stretto, quanti vostri messaggi ho letto: affettuosi, sinceri, alcuni molto commoventi, altri, simpatici, ma tutti quanti, animati dal desiderio di infondermi forza e coraggio, entusiasmo e sempre nuova energia.
Non ci sono parole per dirvi grazie, per esprimere al meglio il senso di profonda gratitudine che ho per tutti voi; tuttavia ho pensato che un album di brani natalizi, fosse il modo migliore per far giungere nelle vostre case i miei più sinceri auguri di buone feste: che siano feste di pace e di serenità per tutti voi, così come questi brani mirabilmente suggeriscono.
Tra i brani che cantano il Natale ho voluto inserire il brano: “The Lord’s Prayer” la preghiera di tutti i cristiani, perché idealmente possiamo cantarla tutti assieme, non solo per il fatto che, come diceva Sant'Agostino: "Chi prega cantando prega due volte", ma piuttosto perché si levi al cielo un immenso coro, che su questa straordinaria melodia canti la speranza di un mondo più giusto, meno violento e perciò più felice. Un mondo nel quale tutti gli uomini aspirino a quell'uguaglianza fraterna, che va al di là delle differenze e delle distanze individuali.
D'altra parte, a dispetto degli anni che passano, il mio ottimismo rimane intatto: io credo fermamente nella possibilità, anzi nell'ineluttabilità e nell'imminenza di un mondo migliore.
Una persona che ho conosciuto da poco, ma che in breve è divenuta una carissima amica, tra le mille grandi cose che è riuscita a fare, si è inventata un esercito ideale di volontari, che s'impegnano ad essere _cavalieri _della _luce: portatori, cioè di verità, di vita, di speranza, di giustizia, di fraternità e.t.c.. Io ho immediatamente aderito al progetto, che invito tutti quanti a conoscere un po' più da vicino, visitando il sito: http://www.nuoviorizzonti-onlus.it . Se lo farete, scoprirete una storia affascinante, al limite dell'incredibile: la storia di una giovane donna che da sola ha reso possibile tutto ciò che apparentemente appare impossibile....

Dear Friends
We are coming up to Christmas once again; a whole year has passed as quick as a flash, and yet how many places I have been to, how many hands I have held, how many of your messages I have read: affectionate, sincere, some very moving, others amusing, but all of them animated by the desire to give me strength and courage, enthusiasm and constantly renewed energy.
There are no words to thank you, to fully express the sense of deep gratitude I feel towards you all; but I thought that an album of Christmas songs might be the best way to bring my very best wishes and festive greetings into your homes, wishing you all the peace and happiness that is admirably evoked by this music.
Among the pieces that celebrate Christmas I wanted to include “The Lord’s Prayer”, the prayer of all Christians, because ideally we could all sing it together, not just because, as St Augustine used to say, “he who sings to pray, prays twice over”, but because that way we could raise an immense chorus up to heaven that, with this extraordinary melody, could give voice to our hope for a better, a less violent and therefore happier world; a world in which all men would aspire towards that brotherly equality that transcends all individual differences and distances.
In spite of the years that pass, my optimism remains intact. I firmly believe in the possibility, indeed in the inevitability and the imminence of a better world.
Someone I met recently, but who quickly became a dear friend, managed, among the thousands of other great things she had achieved, to invent an army of volunteers who commit themselves to being bringers of light: carriers of truth, of life, of hope, justice, fraternity etc. I immediately joined in the project which I invite everyone to get to know a little more by visiting the web site: http://www.nuoviorizzonti-onlus.it . If you do this you will discover a fascinating story which tests the limits of credibility: it is the story of a young woman who has single-handedly succeeded in making things that seemed impossible possible...

Wir sind mal wieder kurz vor Weihnachten, ein Jahr ist schnell wie der Blitz vergangen, und doch, wie viele Städte habe ich besucht, wie viele Hände habe ich gedrückt, wie viele Eurer Mitteilungen habe ich gelesen: herzlich, aufrichtig, einige sehr bewegend, andere einfach nett, jedoch alle durchweg beseelt von dem Wunsch, mir Kraft und Mut zu verleihen, Begeisterung und immer wieder neue Energie.
Es fehlen die Worte um mich bei Euch zu bedanken, um bestmöglich das Gefühl tiefer Dankbarkeit zu beschreiben, das ich Euch gegenüber empfinde; ich habe jedoch gedacht, dass ein Album mit weihnachtlichen Stücken die beste Art sei, in Euer Zuhause meine herzlichsten Weihnachtswünsche zu überbringen: auf dass es ein Fest des Friedens und der Freude für alle von Euch sei, so wie es diese Stücke wundervollerweise verheißen.
Unter den Weihnachtsliedern war mir eines besonders wichtig: The Lord’s Prayer – das Vater Unser: Das Gebet aller Christen, das wir daher idealerweise alle zusammen singen könnten, nicht nur, weil wie Sant'Agostino sagte: "Wer singend betet, betet zweimal", sondern besonders, weil sich dann zum Himmel ein riesiger Chor erhebt, der zu dieser außerordentlichen Melodie von der Hoffnung auf eine gerechtere, weniger gewaltsame, und daher glücklichere Welt singt. Eine Welt, in der alle Menschen nach jener brüderlichen Gleichheit streben, jenseits der individuellen Unterschiede und Entfernungen.
Andererseits, den vergehenden Jahren zum Trotz, bleibt mein Optimismus bestehen: ich glaube fest an die Möglichkeit, vielmehr an die Unumgänglichkeit und das Nahen einer besseren Welt.
Eine Person, die ich erst vor kurzem kennen gelernt habe, die mir aber schnell eine sehr liebe Freundin geworden ist, hat neben vielen Dingen, die sie geschafft hat, ein Heer von Freiwilligen aufgestellt, die sich dafür engagieren „Ritter des Lichts“ zu sein: Überbringer der Wahrheit, des Lebens, der Hoffnung, der Gerechtigkeit, der Brüderlichkeit usw…. Ich habe mich sofort diesem Projekt angeschlossen, das ich alle einlade, ein wenig besser kennen zu lernen, indem man einen Blick auf die Seite: http://www.nuoviorizzonti-onlus.com wirft. Wenn Ihr das macht, werdet Ihr eine faszinierende, fast unglaubliche Geschichte entdecken: Die Geschichte einer jungen Frau, die alleine all das fertig gebracht hat, was unmöglich erschien...

Nous voilà de nouveau proches de Noël; une année a passé avec la rapidité d’un éclair, pourtant, combien de villes j’ai visité, combien de mains j’ai serré, combien de vos messages j’ai lu: affectueux, sincères, quelques-uns très émouvants, d’autres sympathiques, mais tous animés par le désir de m’insuffler force et courage, enthousiasme et toujours une nouvelle énergie.
Il n’y a pas de mots pour vous dire merci, pour exprimer au mieux le sens de profonde gratitude que j’ai pour vous tous; toutefois j’ai pensé qu’un album de chants de Noël serait la meilleure façon pour faire parvenir dans vos maisons mes voeux les plus sincères de bonnes fêtes: qu’elles soient fêtes de paix et de sérénité pour vous tous, comme ces chants admirablement le suggèrent.
Parmi les morceaux qui chantent Noël j’ai voulu insérer le chant: “The Lord’s Prayer”, la prière de tous les chrétiens, pour qu’idéalement nous puissions la chanter tous ensemble, non seulement par le fait que, comme le disait Saint Augustin: “celui qui prie en chantant prie deux fois”, mais plutôt pour que se lève aux cieux un immense choeur, qu’il chante sur cette extraordinaire mélodie l’espoir d’un monde plus juste, moins violent et par conséquent plus heureux. Un monde dans lequel tous les hommes aspirent à cette égalité fraternelle, qui va au-delà des différences et des distances individuelles.
D’autre part, en dépit des années qui passent, mon optimisme reste intact: je crois fermement en la possibilité, même en l’inéluctabilité et en l’imminence d’un monde meilleur.
Une personne que j’ai connue depuis peu, mais qui est devenue rapidement une amie très chère, parmi les mille grandes choses qu’elle a réussi à faire, a réuni une armée idéale de volontaires, qui s’engagent à être des chevaliers de la lumière: porteurs de vérité, de vie, d’espérance, de justice, de fraternité etc..j’ai immédiatement adhéré à son projet, que j’invite tout le monde à connaître d’un peu plus près en visitant le site: “http://www.nuoviorizzonti-onlus.it”. Si vous le faîtes, vous découvrirez une histoire fascinante, à la limite de l’incroyable: l’histoire d’une jeune femme qui toute seule a rendu possible tout ce qui apparemment apparaît impossible...

Estamos nuevamente cercanos a la NAVIDAD, un año ha pasado con la rapidez de un relampago, sin embargo, cuantas ciudades he visitado, cuantas manos he estrechado, cuantos de vuestros mensajes he leido: afectuosos, sinceros, algunos muy conmovedores, otros, simpaticos, pero todos animados por el deseo de infundirme fuerza y coraje, entusiasmo y siempre nueva energia.
No hay palabras para darles las gracias, para expresar mejor, el sentido de profunda gratitud que tengo por todos ustedes; pero pense que un album de canciones navideñas, seria el modo mejor para agregarles a vuestras casas, mis mas sinceros augurios de buenas fiestas: que sean admirablemente fiestas de paz y serenidad para todos ustedes tal como estas piezas sugieren.
Entre las piezas que cantan la Navidad he querido insertar la pieza: "THE LORD'S PRAYER", la plegaria que todos los cristianos, porque idealmente podemos cantarla todos juntos, no solo por el hecho que como decia San Agustin: " quien reza cantando, reza dos veces", mas bien porque se eleva al cielo un inmenso coro, que, sobre esta extraordinaria melodia canta la esperanza de un mundo mas justo, menos violento y por tanto mas feliz.
Un mundo en el que los hombres, aspiren a aquella igualdad fraterna, que va mas alla de las diferencias y de las distancias individuales.
Por otra parte, a pesar de los años que pasan, mi optimismo permanece intacto. Yo creo firmemente en la inevitabilidad y en la inminencia de un mundo mejor.
Una persona que he conocido hace poco, pero que en breve se ha convertido en una queridisima amiga, entre las miles grandes cosas que ha logrado hacer, se ha transformado en un ejercito ideal de voluntarios, que se empeñan a ser: - "Caballeros de la Luz"-: portadores, es decir, de verdad, de vida, de esperanza, de justicia, de fraternidad, etc. Me he adherido inmediatamente al proyecto, que invito a todos a conocer un poco mas de cerca, visitando el sitio: http:/ http://www.nuoviorizonti-onlus.it.

I was fortunate enough to see the taping of your Christmas special at the Kodak theater and enjoyed the evening very much. The taping of The Lord's Prayer with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir was absolutely amazing and I kept watching the YouTube clips of you and David with the choir. The clip of you playing the organ and singing Ave Maria was very, very beautiful, too. I bought MY CHRISTMAS the day it came out, for myself and several of my friends who love to hear and watch you sing. I think The Lord's Prayer is my absolute favorite. I turn the volume way up and it is just magnificent. As you say, music truly can make you feel closer to God. Angels We Have Heard on High and Adeste Fideles have never sounded so beautiful. concert next summer.Its a beautiful place on earth.
